Senior Data Integration Developer

Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Data Integration Developer for a 6 month contract in Torornto.

Candidate should solid experience with data-related activities to develop and maintain data standards, processes and templates as required to support data-intensive applications in technology arm of major Compliance programs. Please submit individuals who understand and exploit enterprise solutions for structured and unstructured Data Management (ETL, EAI, content management/ECM, etc); perform data modelling and provide guidance/consultation on schema designs and extensions/updates; lead efforts to perform Data mapping, data extraction in support of data-intensive Compliance initiatives.

Mandatory requirements include: experience in systems analysis in a financial institution (or an insurance company) is required; extensive technology project experience with recent focus on the data aspects; experience in data modeling, data mapping, data architecture concepts, ETL, and ideally with unstructured data as well.

Accountabilities include:

The candidate will be responsible for leading data-related activities in a matrix organizational structure comprised of vendor, professional services and full-time resources from CSTS and other departments.


Specific responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain data standards, processes and templates as required to support data-intensive applications in technology arm of major Compliance programs
• Perform data modelling and provide guidance/consultation on schema designs and extensions/updates.
• Lead efforts to perform Data mapping, data extraction in support of data-intensive Compliance initiatives
• Identify and recommend opportunities to improve data quality throughout various Compliance projects
• Identify the business implications of data-related decisions
• Understand and exploit enterprise solutions for structured and unstructured Data Management (ETL, EAI, content management/ECM, etc.)
• Research/analyze business requirements to evaluate and recommend optimal solutions within data domain
• Provide expert consultation and participate as a subject matter expert on projects
• Apply industry/technical knowledge to provide solutions that increase business results and/or minimize risk
• Contribute to meeting key project milestones and overall project deliverables on time, within budget, adhering to standards
• Work effectively as a team, supporting other members of the team in achieving business objectives and providing client services


Mandatory qualifications include:

• Experience in systems analysis in a Financial Institution (or an Insurance company) is required
• Extensive technology project experience with recent focus on the data aspects
• Experience in working with data in a large financial institution
• Skills required in data modeling, mapping, data architecture concepts, ETL, and ideally with unstructured data as well
• Able to perform logical and/or physical modeling of data
• Take full accountability for the data aspects of the solution
• Awareness of Regulatory requirements and implications of data and data management


The following are some further qualifications and skills required of the candidate:

• Experience with Client System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Project Management Lifecycle (PMLC) would also be an asset.
• Excellent analytical and documentation skills
• Experience in working with remote teams including offshore resources
• Strong communicator with excellent oral, written, and facilitation skills
• Ability to develop strong relationships with peers, internal and external customers and IT partners
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment, multi-task and work with minimal supervision
• Proficiency with MS Office PC software applications (Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Sharepoint)
• Experience with HP Quality Center would be an asset
• Expertise in the compliance domain would be a definite asset
