Our client has a requirement for a Project Manager for a 6 month contract opportunity. The position is located in Toronto.


The Project Financials and Contracts (Cost & Price) Analyst performs financial related assessments of contract and contractor performance, performs rate studies and trends analysis, develops pricing models for rate development and project estimating necessary to assist project teams in developing cost and price estimates applicable to major IT program/project-related procurement. Through use and analysis of statistical, informational, correlation and other data, the Project Financials and Contracts (Cost & Price) Analyst applies various estimating techniques to derive cost estimates and impacts to the project. Working independently and in a project team environment, the Analyst compiles and analyzes cost or pricing statistical data. Individual develops cost build-ups and pricing models to emulate potential cost or price scenarios for projects supported. Individual develops “should cost” and “probable cost” models. Individual identifies issues, analyze and interpret complex data, and develops pricing strategies necessary to formulate conclusions and recommendations. Individual will be required to analyze various contracts and related data to derive conclusions and interpret financial performance. Individual will be required to document, report and present findings and recommendations both internally and to clients.


-Conduct a general financial analysis of the finance reports and contracts obtained from various departments such as Finance, IT, Contracts, Operations.
-Prepare reports pertaining to the financial state of projects against their business cases and approved budgets.
-Make use of spreadsheets and different statistical software in order to analyze actuals versus forecasts.
-Plan and foresee how project activities will impact costs.


Requirements or Qualifications

•Individual must demonstrate a solid understanding of pricing and cost analysis theory, concepts and principles, demonstrating a broad application of these concepts. He/she must be experienced in contract cost and price evaluation techniques, and cost accounting practices and principles. Individual should be familiar with private sector financial practices, concepts, and terminology. Individual must possess excellent analytical skills as well as PC proficiency, particularly in MS Excel, possess strong verbal and written communications skills and demonstrate ability to initiate, plan and manage activities associated with position duties. Familiarity with contract types, including Firm Fixed Price, Time and Materials (T&M), Cost Reimbursement and ID/IQ contracting as well as cost and price estimating experience in Information Technology Infrastructure is preferred.
•3 + years of experience as a Financial Analyst or Contracts Analyst working in a hands on and fast paced environment
•Strong knowledge of and experience with financial planning and analysis processes including forecasting, and variance analysis
•Experience with accruals, forecasting and other monthly financial and accounting functions 5+ years of experience in cost analysis or business case analysis


•Nice to have

• Professional Contracts or Accounting designation (CA, CGA or CMA) a plus
• Outstanding analytical and problem solving abilities
• Outstanding numerical abilities and attention to detail
• Business case costing experience an asset
• Excellent computer and financial application skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, database application) as well as financial modeling and data management abilities
• Excellent communication skills (Both written and verbal)
• Excellent multitasking and prioritization abilities.
