JD Edwards CNC System Administrator

Our client is a leading provider of services to the Oil & Gas and Energy Industries.  They truly value their employees and pride themselves in their safety history.

Their information services team is expanding and needs a Senior Business Analyst with JD Edwards experience.

The CNC System Administrator’s role is to administer, maintain and protect the JDE Enterprise One software environment in an iSeries environment and assist in the design and optimization of the environment to achieve stability, performance and reliability.

Strategy & Planning

• Assist in the design and review of iSeries server systems, applications, and hardware.
• Participate in key process improvements as they relate to the JDE Enterprise One environment.
• Collaborate with other members of the CNC team, IBM, JDE Business Analysts, and JDE developers to ensure availability, reliability, and proper change management of the JDE infrastructure to meet business needs.

Operational Management

• Execute the deployment of JDE program changes using JDE specific change management strategy.
• Monitor and maintain the backup media and processes for data protection within the JDE environment.  This includes the routine review of the process logs to verify that the backup process has executed properly and the safeguarding and management of the media Installation of new JDE instances
• Assist in the planning and implementation of iSeries and JDE upgrades, maintenance fixes, and vendor-supplied patches.
• Implement and maintain JDE security in accordance with established procedures
• Respond to and resolve issues associated with the operation of process specific third party applications such as Create!Form
• Maintain server, environment and process documentation.
• Monitor iCluster replication software on an as needed basis.
• Install and configure JDE patches (ESU, ASU).
• Execute the installation and configuration of payroll tax updates monthly.
• Monitor the JDE case queue and perform tasks as required.

Job Requirements

Formal Education & Certification

• College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or equivalent work experience and/or certification

Knowledge & Experience

• Technical knowledge and experience as a JDE System Administrator in an iSeries environment
• Familiarity with DB2 and iCluster technology
• Familiarity with WebSphere and experience with basic administration of this environment
