Our client has a requirement for Unified Communications Service Engineer for a 6 month contract opportunity. The positions are located in Toronto.


Requirements

Unified Communications Service Engineer

Our client is looking for a team of Unified Communications Service Engineer to provide the skills / knowledge listed below to build and support an enterprise Cisco IP Telephony solution.

This Service Engineering team will be primarily project focused, developing designs and building solutions to meet new or enhanced IP telephony requirements, develop Currency plans, and provide technical leadership within the Unified Communications environment.


Candidates should thrive in a fast paced / dynamic environment and have:

1. at least one or more of the skills / knowledge areas listed below
2. at least one year of experience supporting or building Cisco IP Telephony in a distributed environment with at least 3,000 phones
3. good MAN/WAN/LAN network design, management and support experience
4. knowledge of legacy voice services functions and features
5. strong documentation skills to create and maintain technical documentation

Candidates should be CCNP – Voice Certified or have equivalent knowledge, including:

1. Knowledge of how to implement and operate gateways, gatekeepers, Cisco Unified Border Element, and QoS in a voice network architecture.
2. Skills in installing and configuring a Cisco Unified Communications Manager solution with a focus on Cisco Unified Communications Manager Release v8.5, the call routing and signaling component for the Cisco Unified Communications solution.
3. Skills in implementing a Cisco Unified Communications Manager solution in a multisite environment, applying a dial plan for a multisite environment, configuring survivability for remote sites during WAN failure, and implementing solutions to reduce bandwidth requirements in the IP WAN.
4. Knowledge and skills required to troubleshoot Cisco Unified Communications systems and solutions in different deployments. Knowledge in troubleshooting methodology, triage, resources, tools, and fixes for Cisco Unified Communications Manager and the new v8.0 features such as Call Control Discovery, SIP Precondition, Extension Mobility Cross Cluster as well as dial plan troubleshooting including globalized call routing.
5. Knowledge of how to integrate the new Unified Communications Applications, which are part of the new version 8.x Cisco Voice software.
