Our client has a requirement for JD Edwards Senior Business Analyst - HR and Payroll Specialist for a perm opportunity.  The position is located in Edmonton, Alberta.

Requirements or Qualifications

Our client is a leading provider of services to the Oil & Gas and Energy Industries.  They truly value their employees and pride themselves in their safety history.  Their information services team is expanding and needs a Senior Business Analyst with JD Edwards experience.

The JDE Senior Business Analyst contributes to the support, configuration, enhancement, development, and implementation of our client’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (JDE) Human Capital Management systems for our users in Canada and the US. The primary role is to deliver business system solutions enabled by JDE through defining requirements, performing analyses, designing and testing systems, and working with business users across the organization as well as other IS staff but will also provide end-user support. This position will also play a role in the implementation of JDE for new acquisitions and associated applications or systems.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Interact with system users across all business areas including:
-          Day to day support and issue resolution within current configuration
-          Identify opportunities for potential improvements to system functionality and/or business processes including design and recommendation of changes
-          Coordinate, test, validate and implement change requests, patches and updates, and security
-          Implementation (including requirements definition and testing) of the following, as required by the business:
  • o   New or revised configuration for existing modules
  • o   New modules and/or functionality
  • o   Custom modification
  • o   Custom reports
  • ·       Facilitate delivery of all production system updates though the change management process
  • Create and document test plans, scripts and scenarios, end-user guides, training materials, and solution documents
  • Analyze, improve and document business processes, policies and procedures
  • Participate in and/or lead project activities, as required
  • Foster continuous learning within user community through coaching and training
  • Oversee and assist with the gathering and documentation of functional requirements for the implementation of application or reporting functionality, modifications and/or enhancements
  • Develop functional requirements and system design specifications that align with proposed business solutions
  • Delivery of end-user training, as required
  • Prepare and/or maintain system and project documentation
  • Examine and assess the feasibility and impact of system change requests
  • Mentor and develop other JDE team members
  • Serve as subject matter expert in one or more JDE applications suites and/or company service lines/functions

Qualified Candidates will have:
  • Extensive (7+ years) experience implementing, optimizing and/or supporting JD Edwards applications (EnterpriseOne 8.11, 8.12 or 9.0 preferred), in all areas of Human Capital Management, particularly Human Resources and Payroll (both Canadian and US)
  • Broad-based understanding of construction, asset management, accounting, and/or business management processes
  • In-depth understanding of functional area(s) enabled by JDE applications
  • Working knowledge of database concepts and JD Edwards file structures
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Solid analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Well developed team skills and a collaborative work style
  • Ability to work independently and within a fast-paced team environment
  • Strong work ethic supported by solid time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple commitments and responsibilities
  • Must have an aptitude for understanding the business environment and translating business requirements to technical solutions
  • Demonstrated consulting and coaching skills in advising appropriate solutions
  • Experience analyzing, designing and developing business applications with a thorough understanding of basic system design concepts (development lifecycle, change management, relational database, object oriented programming and table driven systems)
