Our client has a requirement for Solutions Developer for a 3 month contract opportunity. The positions are located in Toronto.
Requirements or Qualifications
We are looking for a mid-level Solutions Developer II with at least five years of extensive MS Access database experience including Visual Basic skills for a three month project. Please submit candidates who have experience working in data migration from old application to new application. This individual would also be required to have experience in testing and documentation. If the candidate has worked with Kenexa or Nyoyn or Lawson, please add in your comment section as it would be nice to have but not required.
This developer will join the team in the delivery and development of data conversion from source vendor applications (Njoyn and Lawson Recruiting) to Kenexa recruiting application using MS Access for the target database for hosting the conversion data designed to Kenexa's specifications.
Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging and documenting programs, organization's client and server software Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a project leader or manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
As part of this team, prime responsibility will be to:
• Work with other team members to cooperatively design, develop and deploy quality solutions in order to satisfy project objectives and client requirements. Writes, tests and debugs code. Participates in code reviews.
• Comply with System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology. Take part in construction of the requirements, design, testing and deployment documents.
• Create test plans, test and debug code, using available/appropriate tools. Participate in testing reviews.
• Ensure consistency in coding standards.
• Ensure required documentation is housed in the project repository and that knowledge transfer has occurred to full time staff upon completion of contract term. |

This position it to help with the Talent Acquisition and On-Boarding project for HR. We are implementing a new application for recruiting - Kenexa - and decommissioning our existing applicaitons Njoyn (Canada) and Lawson (US). Data from the old apps needs to tbe migrated to the new app, and the vendor uses a predefined MS Access database as the interface to import data into Kenexa for its initial set up. The programmer needs to be able to take the exported files from Njoyn and Lawson and load the MS Access database. MS Access skills including VB skills are a requirement. |
