Sr. Project Manager for a 6 months contract opportunity is available now in Toronto.

Role:
Incumbent is responsible for a group of production applications. Responsibility, at a high level, includes application availability, reliability, stability, small enhancements.
The Tech team Lead will manage a group of 4-5 individuals who are subject matter experts and a staff of onsite and offshore vendor resources. For both service management and small enhancements, you will be expected to determine the optimum mix of resources (employee, onsite, offshore) and then implement plans that obtain that mix.
 
Job Requirements
Manage the relationship (relative to Operations Maintenance) between the business customers (e.g, service expectations) and IT partners for their assigned applications
  • Ability and willingness to hold on-call responsibilities to respond to system issues 24x7x365
  • Manage application-specific production support processes.
  • Provide application support, coordinating the involvement of business and/or IT development resources in problem resolution as necessary.
  • Develop support skills to minimize dependency on development resources.
  • Assist Operations Maintenance team with problem triage, categorization, root cause analysis and ability to duplicate a problem
  • Work with business partners to ensure appropriate prioritization for scheduled maintenance, including coordination of priorities across applications when required.
  • Coordinate business approval of production migrations (release entry framework).
  • Provide leadership in critical issue resolution during the war room process.
  • Facilitate the hand-off of new release functionality from the development team to the Operations Maintenance team.
  • Design, review, and integrate all application requirements, including functional, security, integration, performance, quality, and operations requirements. Provide technical leadership during the life of a project / initiative.
  • Lead design & code reviews. Review and approve developers design, code and unit test results.
  • 10+ years IT experience with 5+ years managing software development team/resources
 
Specific Educational Requirements / Accreditation:
  • University degree in CS discipline
 
Highly experienced with:
  • Database Technologies, Solid DBMS skills(SQL,DB2), Data Modelling skills/tools, ETL tools like SSIS, Ab-Initio, DataStage
  • Various BI, Analytics and Reporting tools like SSRS, Cubing Services, Cognos, Business Objects, Unstructured BI
  • Working knowledge of Websphere and IIS
  • OS: Windows (XP, 2000, NT), IBM OS/2 2.0, HP-UX 9.0, DEC VMS 4.1, Unix (Linux and Sun Solaris).
  • Previous experience or working knowledge of Pega or other workflow applications
  • Previous experience on working with contact center applications preferred.
 
Requirement or Qualifications:
