Sr. Project Coordinator for a 6 month contract opportunity is available now in Toronto.

Role
Our client is looking for a Senior PCO with has at least five years prior experience in a Project Control Officer capacity for large technology projects/programs, has advanced Excel experience (pivot tables, vloop-up, macros), MS Access, MS Office, PowerPoint and has done reporting/analytics.
 
Must haves:
  • At least 5 years prior working experience in a Project Control Officer capacity for large projects/programs, preferably within technology with teams of at minimum 25 dedicated staff and budget over $10MM.
  • Advanced knowledge of and previous experience in the use of MS Project management software to create, update and maintain project schedules with new and revised work packages and plans; ability to conduct analysis of impacts to critical path and report on same
  • Prior experience in identifying dependencies and ensuring links with other schedules are established correctly, identifying conflicts and following up where required.
  • Advanced expertise with Word and Excel is a must; previous experience with Visio and Powerpoint is preferred
  • Previous experience with MS Access or aptitude for learning how to create MS Access queries is preferred
  • Technical aptitude – ability to learn new technology/tools on the job and recommend more effective ways to complete assignments
  • Executes on assigned work packages ensuring deliverables meet standards for quality and timeliness and achieve original objectives
  • Ensures reporting and appropriate program documentation is properly completed (i.e. issues/actions/decisions/risk logs, reports, change requests, presentations, correspondence / communications, tables, charts, files, etc.)
  • Hands on Experience with Project Management Life Cycle and relate controls – i.e. Project Change Request (PCR) processes and documentation, Issues/Actions/Decision Logs, status reporting and analytics
  • As assigned, investigates, escalates and ensures that all project issues are effectively resolved
  • Very good verbal and written communication skills; previous experience writing clear minutes is a must
  • Leverages tools, reporting capabilities and systems already in place that provide the required level of detail and information needed by the PMO
  • Highly organized, with ability to multi-task, keep track of priorities, and take direction from/provide support up to 2 project managers in a matrix environment
 Nice to have
  • Identifies and recommends opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness and operational efficiency
  • Previous experience in financial industry
  • Previous experience with Systems Development Life Cycle
  • Previous experience with Sharepoint and access administration
