Business Analyst for a 12 months contract is available now in Burnaby, BC.

Requirement or Qualifications:

• Lead the network design, provisioning, commissioning, documentation, and deployment deliverables for SMI WAN project technologies
• Develop process for trouble-shooting the SMI WAN network and assist in technical recommendations to BCH stakeholders
• Develop operational documentation and Standard Operational Procedures for the SMI WAN suite of technologies
• Assist in the transfer to Operations of the SMI WAN suite of technologies including RACI and run book.
• Develop and design engineering standards for SMI WAN pole-mounted technologies
• Provide SMI WAN network security assistance when required
• Provide SMI FAN network engineering assistance when required
• Relationship with providers to resolve technical and operational issues raised by operations staff
• Testing and integration of BGAN management tool
• Plan and coordinate change controls between Client’s functional groups and partners
• Technical document and standards creation
• Require technical and operational knowledge of services and how they have been integrated into client’s networks
• Coordinate training for client’s staff on SMI WAN tools
• Operational document creation including swim lanes and service level operations documents
• WiMAX deployment
• Part of WiMAX deployment team, responsible for CPE commissioning and documentation
• Require technical and operational knowledge of SMI and WiMAX systems
• Smart Metering network technologies deployed within an Electrical Utilities environment
• WAN technology architecture, design, implementation and transition to Operations and sustainment. Technologies must include cellular, satellite, ISP, C-Band, and WiMAX.
• Smart Metering back-haul architecture, design and management, including: TCP/IP, LAN Protocols, Routing Protocols (RIPv2, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), MPLS L3 VPN, Multicast, IPv6, QoS and SNMP
• Underlying data communications protocols including DTE/DCE, RS232, RS449/422, RS530, V.35, Ethernet, Frame Relay, ISDN (PRI, BRI), DS1, DS3, HDLC, and PPP.
• Network Application and Operating systems such as Cisco IOS, Cisco Secure ACS, Cisco Call Manager 4.3/Express, CUCM/Unity 7.3, Cisco ASDM, Wireshark, MRTG, RRDTool, OpenNMS, SIP Express Router, Asterisk PBX, MySQL (Mandatory)
• Networking hardware experience including Cisco Switches (6500/3750/3560), Cisco Routers (1900/2900), Cisco ASA 5520 w/SSL VPN, Nortel Switches (5520/8600), Nortel Routers (1000/4100), Nortel NSF (5114/6616) w/Checkpoint, Nortel VPN (3050), Nortel Wireless (2380/2330), and Nortel NAC (4050)
• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field, plus 12+ years in the Information Systems industry.
• Up-to-date network certifications including CCNP and CCIE
• Strong documentation and communications skills
• Demonstrated business analyst experience
