About the Job

Our client has a requirement for an Sr.Business Analyst for a 6 Month Contract opportunity.  The position is located in North York, ON.

Requirements or Qualifications

  • 7 to 10 years of experience as a Business Analyst
  • Proven experience and knowledge in at least four of the six competency areas of the BABOK 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills 
  • Strong team working and collaboration skills 
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills 
  • knowledge of the insurance industry is an asset
  • technical skills: SQL, database is an asset
Responsibilities

  • Participate in the RFI (Request for Information) and RFP (Request for Proposal) process if required 
Competencies 
  • Support one or more business lines in the process of identification and documentation of their high and detailed level business requirements : elicit, analyze, document, prioritize, validate business requirements, map current current state and future state processes 
  • Assess current business processes and recommend improvement opportunities 
  • Provide value added solutions to achieve business objectives 
  • Ensure that the solution is aligned to the objectives and needs expressed by business sectors as well as the expected benefits 
  • Manage business requirements throughout the entire project life cycle (including participating in the assessment of change requests and their impacts, ensuring traceability between the solution and the business requirements) 
  • Be the representative of the client’s business requirements within the project team and act as a liaison between the various stakeholders 
  • Negotiate with stakeholders and act as a mediator in the change request and potential solution evaluation processes 
  • Support and participate in some cases to change management and project management activities, including: impact analysis, risks identification, mitigation measures recommendation, stakeholders management, planning activities and training sessions
