Job Description

Our client has a requirement for an Applications Architect – Level 3 for a 4 month contract opportunity.  The position is located in Toronto.

Role
  • Assuring the proper configurations of the physical designs and deployment models to meet the environment requirements and constraints of the operational environments;
  • Ensuring the proper levels of testing and technical feasibility are fully assessed and duly completed in the testing, pre-production and production environments, where necessary and appropriate;
  • Providing advice and assistance to any modifications of the architecture and design components that are deemed viable and acceptable, with appropriate approval or re-approval to ensure compliance of all applicable governance and IT standards;
  • Informing and reporting all significant outcomes and impacts, as well as any risks and mitigations related to any implementation outcomes to the governance bodies and the projects.
This resource is required to assist the projects as assigned to support all aspects of configuration and implementation, working with the project resources in assuring the quality and ensuring the performance of the production system in order to meet the Client’s standards.

1. Provide an implementation plan of major project assigned, the projects, and to ensure successful transition to operation.

Deliverables in this task include:
  • Technical lead role to provide oversight and due diligence to ensure that the Physical Deployment complies with the approved Solution Architecture designs;
  • Solution provider's role to resolve issues related to physical deployment as they arise, including liaison with team, Infrastructure Technology Services (ITS), and System Integrator;
  • Solution integrator's role to coordinate the integration, interoperation and interfaces of key infrastructure technologies for implementation of the solution architecture as approved by the Client: AIX, Oracle Identity Manager, Oracle Access Manager, Oracle Internet Directory, Oracle Policy Automation, Oracle BI Publisher, Siebel CRM, Oracle e-Business Suite, Websphere Application Server, Weblogic application Server, Websphere Process Server, Open Text LiveLink, Curam Application Suite, and other Client standards for Case Management Solutions.
2. Provide guidelines and methodologies for end-to-end integration of technologies in case management solutions for MAPS projects. This will include but won't be limited to server configuration; security; server and client deployment; problem reporting; user support; solution development; integration and user acceptance testing; system migration; etc. Deliverables in this task also entail documents on the resources and time required to achieve end-to-end integration, interoperation and interfaces, in both data and application domains.

3. Plan, document and execute transition support of the Architecture and Design Deployment into Production for projects.


This deliverable includes but is not limited to efforts to:
  • Review and revise Build books to ensure completeness and accuracy;
  • Resolve, lead the resolution of build and deployment of project environments, as well as to provide project perspectives to ensure deployment complies with approved architecture and corporate standards;
  • Ensure security protocols conform with Client standard;
  • Ensure infrastructure readiness; liaise with ITS solution architect to confirm infrastructure design including unit and integration testing, user acceptance and production environments, taking into account security and performance considerations;
  • Lead, in conjunction with the third party Integrator, the end-to-end testing in the Pre-Production environment;
  • Ensure projects conform to approved Quality Level Metrics (QLM);
  • Lead, in conjunction with the third party Integrator, the capacity testing to ensure correct sizing of the production environment;
  • Facilitate Production Support personnel to ensure a smooth transition.
4. Assist projects in the Data migration to the Enterprise Content Management Service based on Open Text LiveLink.

5. Support the Client to lead the Disaster Recovery (DR) infrastructure exercise of the project, which may include ensuring Technical DR plan conforms to approved QLM and verifying Technical Disaster Recovery procedures.

6. Provide subject-matter expertise in the area of technical, application and security architectures, including research of best practices, the marketplace and trends, as applicable to the project.
