Job Description
Our client has a requirement for Desktop Support Technician for a 1 year contract opportunity.  The positions are located in Toronto.

Role
The incumbent will be required to support end user’s computing, to install and support the end user’s hardware and software as related to Desktop/ Technical Services and other related capital projects. The role with also include daily operational support for production problems. The duties will also include:

  • Providing desktop users at multiple sites with problem analysis, problem resolution consultation and technical support for: desktop/laptop hardware and software and other peripheral devices, mainframe hardware, electronic mail, printing services and networked systems.
  • Assisting with the delivery and installation of desktop hardware, updating inventory records and related documentation and assisting with the performance monitoring of desktop services provided to the customer.
  • Update and resolve incident tickets.
  • Arrange and install hardware or software for assigned client requests.
  • Update asset information as required. Complete timesheets.Provide installation assistance for projects
  • Support customers at approximately 40 locations at various sites in Toronto and meet changing work demands in a competent and professional manner.
  • Maintain a positive work and customer relationships and be a team player.. with same hardware and software (Microsoft applications, Widows NT, etc. Completed MCSE.)
Requirement or Qualifications

Qualified Candidates will have:

  • Technical Education from a community college or technical diploma in computer studies combined with 3-5 years relevant work experience in computer service field making multiple site visits to customers at various locations within Toronto.
  • Must have A+ Certification for Computer Support and Service Technicians.
  • Minimum 2-3 certificates for COMPAQ, HEWLETT PACKARD, TOSHIBA, Panasonic, and Lexmark.
  • Must have creative technical and logical problem solving skills and analytical abilities primarily in desktop hardware and software fields.
  • Must possess good technical knowledge, customer service oriented with excellent customer service and customer relations skills, good analytical, problem solving, interpersonal, verbal, written and administrative skills
  • Must have a car.
  • Sound knowledge of desktop equipment including hardware, software products and related applications.
