About the Job

Our client has a requirement for an IT Application Specialist for a 6 Month Contract.  The position is located in Mississauga ON.

Role

• Implementation Services is situated on the critical path of application and Infrastructure implementations.
• The Business Application Services teams are responsible for testing, deploying and updating support documentation of the Bank’s business applications.
• As a member of the Business Application Services team, you will be primarily responsible for non-functional testing and deployment of application change into the production environment.
• The team works with various distributed technologies/applications (UNIX, Windows and AS400). You will also work closely with Technology Solutions, Operations Support, External vendors, Business users and Engineering teams to ensure the successful implementation of products/changes into the production environment. 

Requirements or Qualifications

• Solid knowledge of the PMLS/SDLC process 
• Solid knowledge and experience with application deployments for Unix-AIX, Unix Sun Solaris, AS400, MS .Net and Java 
• Solid knowledge and experience with Middleware components such as WebSphere 5,6,7, 8 and or Oracle 
• Solid knowledge and experience performing functional/non-functional testing and troubleshooting in the UAT/PAT and Production environments 
• Proficient working with Windows MS Word/Excel/ Project applications 
• Proven documentation skill sets 
• Flexible and able to work after hours and or weekends 
• Solid knowledge and experience of the Change/ Problem Management Best Practices methodologies 
• Strong conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills; have an eye for detail; initiative to follow up on items or determine appropriate steps for timely resolution 
• Flexible and able to quickly adapt to changing priorities 

Nice To Have 

• Experience with UNIX based scripting (Shell / Perl)
• Prior TD working experience 
• ITIL certified 
• Financial/Banking Industry experience 
• Experience using MKS 2009 and or MKS Implementer (AS400) 
• Experience using CA7 (mainframe job scheduler)
