Our client, a major Canadian Bank has a requirement for IT Manager - ERP/Development Manager to work in the Finance Technology group for a full time, permanent opportunity.  The position located in Toronto.

Job Description

This position manages all activities for the Oracle ERP platform for Finance (namely, PeopleSoft 9.1 GL, Oracle 11.5 eBusiness modules (AP, GL, PO, and Fixed Asset)), Oracle Hyperion Enterprise for financial reporting, internal home grown financial systems, and other ancillary systems related to these systems with all relevant supporting and development tools.

This role is responsible for managing both internal and outsourced third party staff, located both onshore and offshore. The team consists of PeopleSoft, Oracle eBus, and Oracle Hyperion Enterprise financial reporting skill sets, and other developers and SMEs.
The role has substantial user interactions and you will be required to represent the team on both day-to-day and strategic matters, especially during the monthly finance activities (Month, Quarterly, and Year End activities).
It is expected that you will develop an expert on understanding of Finance user needs and lead/assist the team in developing solutions. This will involve working with complex, multi-dimensional data models to serve a wide variety of end users of the clients.
The role works closely with our partners in Finance Production Support (FPS group) as well as groups within the IT infrastructure technology group (ITS). You will interact with several Project/Program Managers in the Finance group and also works extensively with support areas in infrastructure technology group.
Team delivers multiple projects simultaneously, while also managing a stream of regular maintenance and enhancement activities.

Job Requirements:
  • Support the various Oracle ERP modules and provide direction and oversight for ongoing development and support initiatives, by analyzing business needs and recommend IT solutions.
  • Deliver effective and efficient solutions by meeting both support commitments and key project deliverables on time, and adhering to development and quality standards.
  • Strong experience in supporting the financial modules of Oracle ERP (namely, PeopleSoft 9.1 GL, Oracle 11.5 eBusiness modules (AP, GL, PO, and Fixed Asset)), and Oracle Hyperion Enterprise financial reporting and other related tools.
  • Knowledge of Finance processes/applications is an asset.
  • Ensure application documentation is complete and appropriately maintained.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with our business partners, infrastructure support groups and vendor.
  • Support the strategic Finance Architecture Vision and ensure IT solutions are based on known business drivers & strategic direction and vision.
  • Comply with the system development life cycle (SDLC) and project management methodology (PMLC) by participating in scope assessment, risk and cost analysis.
  • Coach, lead and mentor team members. Participate in knowledge transfer with the team and business units.
  • Individual must be self-motivated and able to manage multiple conflicting priorities.
  • Individual must be a strong leader that can work independently.
  • Strong vendor management skills are an asset.
  • Individual should possess a sound knowledge of Project Management. 
Specific Educational Requirements/Accreditations: 
  • University or college or equivalent work experience
  • Candidates who do not meet the education requirements but have extensive experience in Application Management will be considered 
Candidate Requirement or Qualifications:
  • 5 + years in a leadership/manager role supporting ERP (Oracle / People Soft)  in a Finance environment, both in Support, Projects and/or configuration / RICE Management role
  • 2+ years working in a global organization
  • Relevant work experience in technology with a broad understanding across multiple IT disciplines
  • Advanced knowledge of technology standards (e.g., infrastructure, architecture, processes, applications) and managing people/projects
  • Advanced understanding of businesses and/or organizational practices/ disciplines
  • Basic knowledge of external competition, industry and/or market trends in relation to own business
  • Proven track record managing large, complex software development/integration projects and teams in both host and distributed environments
  • Demonstrated understanding of IT Service Management concepts and procedures
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the latest technology innovations and their applicability to business operations
  • Experience coordinating projects, programs or supporting a department (portfolio Level Management experience preferred)
  • Experience with system development life cycle (SDLC) and project management methodology (PMLC) by participating in scope assessment, risk and cost analysis
  • Demonstrated relationship management and leadership skills with a superior ability to make things happen through the use of influence and negotiation with all levels of management
  • Strong quality management skills
  • Proactive team player with effective time management skills; ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines/projects and keep key players informed
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills- list of requirements
