Job Description

Our client has a requirement for an Enterprise Business Architect for a 6 month contract opportunity.  The position is located in Toronto.

Role

  • The Enterprise (Business) Architect will be responsible for developing the Business Architecture for the client EventPaL and FilmPaL initiatives. The Enterprise (Business) Architect will work with the various divisions to create a Business Architecture.
  • The Business Architecture includes: program and service level descriptions, collecting requirements, defining business process using Business Process Mapping Notation (BPMN) annotation.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Planning and implementation of enterprise level business architectures
  • Business Architecture framework knowledge
  • Strong understanding of business process modelling
  • Ability to select and establish architectures
  • Good written and communications skills
  • Understanding of Permits and Licensing processes
  • Experience working in any level of government
  • University degree in Business or equivalent, MBA preferred
  • Strong business analysis background with extensive experience in gathering, analyzing and documenting stakeholder requirements
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, and ability to work in a team environment and work collaboratively with others
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in producing Business Architecture documentation
  • 3+ years' experience working with the Zachman Framework and checkpoint review process, including understanding of the various EA governance checkpoints
  • 5-7 years' experience working in a Business Architect role
  • 5 + years' experience working in any level of Government

The Enterprise (Business) Architect will perform the following activities:
  1. Work with several stakeholders to capture the business requirements for event planning and permitting and film permitting (EventPaL and FilmPaL) and develop a Business Architecture for each.
  2. Review the Business Architecture artefacts with domain experts (i.e. business, application, information, technology and security domain experts).
  3. Prepare a Business Architecture report outlining the findings, including the Business Architecture artefacts.
  4. Present the Business Architecture to the Architecture Core Team (ACT), Enterprise Architecture Review Committee (EARC) and Business Executive Committee (BEC) for their review and approval
Technical Ability
  • 8+ years of business requirements analysis experience
  • 5+ years of business use case development experience
  • Good working knowledge of business modelling tools, such as Visio, Casewise etc.
