Job Description:

Application Architect role for a 1 year contract opportunity is available now in Toronto.

Role:

• We require an experienced Applications Architect to work on a number of online applications projects.

Requirement or Qualifications:

• 5+ years Applications Architect experience
• 5+ years experience in a large organization
• 5+ years experience with Architecture Governance (process, decision-making, escalations, stakeholder communication, blueprinting, roadmapping, documentation, etc.).
• Understanding of Web 2.0 concepts, hybrid application models, client-side application processing, JavaScript (experience with at least one of Dojo or jQuery in an enterprise setting) , CSS3, HTML5, mobile (tablet) considerations, responsive design principles and modern software design patterns (encapsulation, loose-coupling).
• Experience architecting solutions for the Web with an emphasis on reuse vis-à-vis Multi-Channel Architecture.
• Experience designing Enterprise Java solutions.
• Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture and experience identifying and consuming Web Services.
• Exposure to domain architecture (Data, Business, Infrastructure, etc.) and experience liaising with individuals in these roles.
• Experience with Integration Patterns and technologies.

Nice to Have:

• Exposure to TOGAF or Zachman
• Experience in Financial Services
• Knowledge of SOAP/XSD/WSDL
• Knowledge of IBM ESB products (WebSphere DataPower and Enterprise Service Bus)

Additional Skills:

• Must be able to converse with technology and business partners using vocabulary that is tailored to the audience.
• Ability to influence others through strong decision-making, negotiation and presentation skills.
