Job Description:

Our client has a requirement for PLC Engineer/ Electrical Engineer for a Fulltime permanent opportunity. The position is located in Burlington/Hamilton region.

 

Summary:

 Our client is looking for a PLC Engineer or Electrical Engineer to support and enhance custom automated handling and storage systems. A designer/integrator of automated handling and storage systems catering to the metals industry, this company specializes in the development of automated handling equipment and systems for Warehouses and supplies custom logistic systems. The position responsibilities include performing high level diagnostics and repair to the cranes and other automated equipment used in some of our automated facilities.

 

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree/or college equivalent in Electrical Engineering/Technology
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working a heavy manufacturing environment, preferably in a steel environment
• Experience with AC motors and drivers
• Experience with SCADA Programming
• Experience with radio control systems

 

Asset:

• Experience with PLC systems, Allen Bradley Controllogix preferred
• Good knowledge of PLC logic & Programming
• Experience with DeviceNet or Industrial Ethernet knowledge is a plus

 

Tasks:

• Preparation Functional Specifications, Customer Specific Requirements.
• Apply Procedures and Standards, Creating & Configuring, Programming.
• Testing & Documentation, Standard Software Implementation.
• Commissioning & Validation.
• May be required to travel outside of Canada
