Role:

CLIENT’s IT Infrastructure department is looking for a qualified Wireless and Wired Network Analyst to conduct an assessment of the current Wi-Fi network at its head office and warehouse locations. CLIENT is rolling out a mobile strategy and a key component of the strategy is a high performing Wi-Fi network.

The Network Analyst will conduct an assessment of the current state of the Wi-Fi network with an end to end view of its capability and capacity to support the increasing demand of mobile users. The analyst may use the tools and technology available to perform this assessment of may recommend additional tools required.

The analyst will be required to document current state, identify existing challenges or areas of potential problems along with a road map to resolve these challenges and problems.

 

This work includes and is not limited to:

• Collecting all the data required for assessing the current state of the Wi-Fi network at Head Office and Warehouses.
• Deploy and interpret network data from diagnostic tools both current and potential new acquisitions.
• Provide technical expertise through investigation and recommendation of specific solutions including best alternative design (which may require out of the box thinking).
• Provide input into technical designs.
• Develop strategy and review designs for robustness.
• May consult with internal and/or external customers, peers and/or vendors to review trends and recommend potential solutions.

 

Requirement or Qualifications:

The successful candidate must have:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Wired or Wireless environment.
• Good understanding of 802.11 based wireless architecture.
• Must be able to troubleshoot Wired or Wireless network using a variety of tools including but not limited to WireShark, Nagious, MRTG, Solar Winds
• Proven track record for enhancing network stability, security, client service levels and cost-effectiveness
• Demonstrated investigative, problem solving analysis and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
• Cisco Experience is a plus.

• Ability to multitask, prioritize and escalate tasks appropriately.
• Ability to liaise with the business and end users.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Strong verbal communication skills, necessary in order to understand business requirements, interact with customers and to explain system constraints to the cross functional team.
