Job Description:
Enterprise IT Operations Trainer for a 12 month contract opportunity is available now in Toronto.

Role:
The Trainer will design and develop training course materials, as well as deliver training on various EITO processes and applications and Learning and Development. In addition, the Trainer will develop E-learning courses and update training materials as technologies evolve.

 
Key Areas of Responsibility:
  1. Curriculum Development
  2. Classroom and Specialized Training
  3. Development of E-Learning course materials
  4. Training Project Design, Documentation and Management


Area 1 – Curriculum Development (various skill levels) for the following:
  1. “Train the Trainer” programs to help facilitate teams with training within their domains;
  2. Identification of appropriate training to acquire skills required to perform EITO roles;
  3. Identification of appropriate training to acquire skills required for EITO and non-EITO staff to efficiently perform their job functions as they pertain to using software and/or shared IT processes provisioned by EITO;
  4. Specialized training needs. Work with individuals to identify training to support career growth.
 
Area 2 – Classroom and Specialized Training:
  1. Design, plan and execute training sessions using training styles appropriate to the situation, e.g. classroom, seminar style or individual sessions;
  2. Source and supply help sheets to user, in either hard copy or via SharePoint;
  3. Procure all training equipment necessary (computers, audio visual, overheads, etc.) in advance of training sessions and ensure they are set up and working;
  4. Facilitate refresher course on current training methods (interactive, motivational etc)
 
Area 3 – Development of E-Learning course materials:
  1. Develop and source other training methodologies such as Computer Based Training (CBT), Interactive Distance Learning, and Web or Internet Based Training including being responsible for their successful implementation;
 
Area 4 – Training Project Design, Documentation and Management:
  1. Develop, document and follow approved training project plans;
  2. Design layouts of training document contents;
  3. Write user manuals and training materials;
  4. Develop lecture, presentation and hands on course materials;
  5. Develop and maintain web-based online training materials;
  6. Coordinate training schedules;
  7. Conduct and manage all training programs from start to finish independently.
 
Requirement or Qualifications:
 
Must Have:
  1. Formal training background;
  2. Strong written and oral communication
  3. Customer-oriented
  4. Ability to work in an independent setting
  5. Ability to work under pressure and with deadlines
  6. Go-getter, takes initiative
  7. 5 - 10 years of software and/or IT applications training experience;
  8. SharePoint and Windows 7;
  9. Experience applying a Systematic Approach to Training methodology;
 
Nice to Have:
  1. E-learning experience is an asset.
  2. ITIL Foundations certified (ITIL v3, is an asset)
  3. Proficient with MS Office Suite of products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio (asset)
  4. Bilingual - English/French (asset)
  5. Working knowledge of CA-USD/SDM or another ITIL certified Service Management tool (asset)
