Job Description

One of our clients is looking for Application Developer  (Java/Portal/Portlets) to join the  team in Toronto for a 10 month contract.

 Responsibilities

The Application Software Developer is accountable for the analysis, design, development, implementation, and support of applications to ensure and maintain alignment with the Lines of Business (LOBs) strategies.

Qualifications

- University or college diploma in applied technologies

- 8 to 10 years systems analysis and programming experience with extensive business

  knowledge

- Minimum of 8 years working in the banking industry

- Possesses solid knowledge of design and analysis methodology and application 

  development

  processes from both an industry and Client perspective

- Demonstrates solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and

  Quality Assurance requirements and software development control and release procedures

- Professional working experience with Spring & Hibernate.

- Professional working experience with Portal Server and Portlets.

- 8 to 10 years of solid experience developing web applications including Servlets, JSP and

  other web

  technologies in a financial company.

- Exhibits good understanding of relevant technologies

- Willingness to carry support pager or personal mobile to provide production support

  (candidate must be

  very flexible with schedule as will sometimes be required to work weekends, nights and

  overtime)

- Possesses solid analytical skills for complex problem solving

- Is able to manage multiple priorities

- Is able adapt and quickly develop in-depth technical understanding of new/different

  applications

- Is detail oriented with strong organizational skills

- Demonstrates solid communication skills, both written and verbal

- Demonstrates good leadership skills and independence

- The ability to operate in a fast paced environment.

- A deep understanding of systems security best practices.

- Experience developing or deploying highly scalable applications.
