Job Description

Our client has a requirement for a Senior Project Manager for a 12 month contract opportunity.  The position is located in Toronto.

Requirements:

Under general direction from an assigned our client’s Senior Manager, the Project Manager will be responsible for:

•     Project Management of complex Application and Infrastructure projects related to network

    upgrades, virtualization, vulnerability reporting and windows 7 upgrades.

•     Performing an assessment of the current network architecture with the view to updating

    and upgrading to meet business requirements. The assessment will seek to identify all

    physical aspects of the network infrastructure including, technology, design, architecture,

    sites, hardware, software, line speeds, and all other collection of data points.

•     Developing service level objectives with the business leaders.

•     Developing a future state network architecture for the our client.

•     Analyzing proposals and preparing recommendations and executive summaries.

•     Organizing vendor demonstrations if required.

•     Managing the transition from the existing network to the new network.

•     Project administration, meetings and updates.

•     Status reporting to the client’s Senior Vice-President, Information Technology

•     Following up on action items.

•     Resolving issues.

•     Project plans and time tracking.

•     Ensuring all deliverables are done to specifications & requirements

Qualified Candidates will have:

•     At least 20 years of proven experience as a senior project manager with extensive

    knowledge of network architecture, infrastructure architecture, virtualization, security and

    mobility.

•     Experience in working with diverse enterprises on complex and multi-faceted projects.

•     The ability to provide thought leadership in both architecture and technology adoption.

•     Knowledge and experience of the trends in the industry as it relates to Mobility and

    Wireless.

•     Knowledge and experience of the trends in the industry as it relates to Virtualization.

•     Leadership skills to lead the team assembled for projects.

•     Strong background in Securing Networks and Infrastructure.

•     Excellent Communication and writing skills.

•     Knowledge of Microsoft Project.

•     Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio and Power Point.

•     Results oriented, with excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent

    interpersonal/team skills with core team members, the implementation team members,

    technical consultants and project leadership.

•     Ability to multitask and prioritize

•     Ability to liaise with the business and end users.

•     Strong written communication skills.

•     Strong verbal communication skills, necessary in order to understand business

    requirements, interact with customers and to explain system constraints to the cross

    functional team.
