About the Job

Our client has a requirement for a Project Control Officer for a six month contract opportunity.  The position is located in Toronto.

We are looking for a Jr. PCO who is flexible and adaptable. We are looking for a strong candidate with Excel, Powerpoint, Sharepoint experience as they would be working to maintain the Project Portfolio Inventory list.  This candidate would need to have some finance background and has strong financial acumen and detail oriented.

Responsibilities
- support status report generation and inform team members of project status/progress
  within the portfolio.
- schedule and organize meetings, including preparation and coordination by booking the
   facility, pre-mail, arranging required equipment, materials as required.
- coordinate development of the portfolio plan with relevant stakeholders and updated
  as required
- produce weekly internal management reports on time, and to a high degree of
  accuracy and qualify, in accordance with required methods and standards
- support the portfolio by collecting, analyzing, interpreting and reporting financial and
   performance data
- maintain the portfolio Service Catalogue
- identify and recommend opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness and
  operational efficiency of the LOB/portfolio processes
- manage Sharepoint and intranet structure and content
- establish and maintain a current project list and monitor project status and governance
- provide reporting to analyze workforce capacity issues in aggregate across the
  department
- maintain the Project Portfolio Inventory list
- assist in cross-project issue resolution
- provide research and analysis of project portfolio
- ensure standard use of PM tools such as Carpel, EPM, and the transition to the new
  PPM system
- support the rollout of the new Enterprise Portfolio and Project Management tool -
  PPM
- manage and maintain the Technology book of record
- coordinate, communicate and manage the monthly Technology Portfolio Report
- analyze weekly status project reporting and prepare regular summary updates on
  trends and observations
- responsible for the Delivery schedule management such as demand estimation and
  schedule, considering risk and attaining approvals
- validate forecast data submissions for completeness and quality and communicate
  monthly capacity forecasting process submission deadlines

Requirements or Qualifications

Qualified Candidates
 Must have:
- Portfolio Coordination
- Strong Financial acumen and detail oriented
- SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint
- University or relevant equivalent education such as Post Secondary degree/diploma (computer science or business with IT focus)

Nice to have:
- bank experience
- Understanding Software Life Cycle
- Portfolio Management Tools for tracking financials
