About the Job
Our client has, a global Telecommunications company, has a requirement for a Software Engineer, Web Development Engineer for a 6 Month Contract opportunity. The position is located in Massachusetts
Our client a major Telco company is looking for 4 WEB SERVICE DEVELOPERS to work with the Analytics team. Responsibilities include participating in the normal day-to-day workflow of the team, which includes developing new data collection interfaces between backend web services, diagnosing data quality issues at the system level and database level, producing ad-hoc views of collected data, and participating in the spec and development of new reporting features. Candidates with prior experience processing big data for analytics, or have worked closely with business analysts, are preferred.
Qualifications
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science or related field
• Hands-on experience with web service backend development
• Strong database skills (Oracle and/or MySQL)
• Experience with Ruby and/or PHP LAMP development
• Experience with big data processing using Hadoop tool set
• Familiarity working in a Linux shell environment and command-line tools
• Solid understanding of relational databases, query tuning, schema design
• Solid understanding of web application protocols, REST APIs, HTTP, common log format
• Experience in contributing code to a team project using either GIT or SVN
• Experience with maintaining automated tests and project documentation
• Preferred but not required: Experience scripting for reporting tools such as QlikView or Tableau
