Job Description:

Our client has a requirement for a Senior Solution Architect for a contract opportunity.  The position is located in Ottawa.

Requirement or Qualifications:

Key Requirements:

·     degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience

·     minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in the IT field

·     minimum of 5 years of experience in developing solution architectures

·     English and French essential

·     minimum of 2 years of relevant experience with financial and trading systems

·     minimum of 3 years of experience with database systems

·     minimum of 2 years of relevant experience integrating solutions with SAP

·     demonstrated experience with a variety of technologies/approaches, including J2EE, packaged

·     applications, multi-platform applications and service-oriented architecture (SOA)

·     expert knowledge of four or more development languages or tools from the following list: (ASP.NET, C#, C++, JavaScript, jQuery, Java, CSS, XML, XSL, XSLT, Visual Studio, Eclipse, MS T-SQL, Oracle PL/SQL)

·     demonstrated experience with different architecture/design techniques (e.g., object-oriented, top-down, structured analysis, component-based design) and tools

Assets

·     knowledge of the financial market and banking systems

·     knowledge of transactional systems

·     knowledge and work experience with WebLogic and JBoss application servers, MS SQL Server and Oracle RDBMS

·     Master in Business Administration (MBA) degree or equivalent

·     ability to work with an Enterprise Architecture framework and group

·     strong knowledge of ITIL processes

·     knowledge and experience working with SunGard FAME

·     strong knowledge of principles and best practices in software architecture and architectural/design patterns and frameworks

·     knowledge in implementing secure applications

·     excellent knowledge in all aspects of testing, including unit and stress testing

Other:

·     Linguistic requirement (minimum starting level): functional in second official language (training may be provided to help the selected candidate reach the required level of fully functional)

·    Condition of employment: Candidates must be eligible for reliability status clearance.

·    Priority will be given to candidates who are legally entitled to work in Canada.

·     Relocation assistance may be provided, if required
