Job Description:

Our client has a requirement for a Senior Solutions Architect for a term opportunity.  The position is located in Ottawa, Ontario. As part of a team you will be involved with delivering automated business solutions and office tools, and establishing and sustaining the IT infrastructure necessary to support these solutions and tools. You will be responsible for contributing to the development and maintenance of the applications solution architecture.

Requirement or Qualifications:

Qualified Candidates will have most but not necessarily all of the following:

• Degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of relevant work experience in the IT field

• 5+ years of experience in developing solution architectures
• English and French an asset
• Demonstrated experience with a variety of technologies/approaches, including J2EE, packaged applications, multi-platform applications and service-oriented architecture (SOA)
• Expert knowledge of four or more development languages or tools from the following list: (ASP.NET, C#, C++, JavaScript, jQuery, Java, CSS, XML, XSL, XSLT, Visual Studio, Eclipse, MS T-SQL, Oracle PL/SQL)
• Demonstrated experience with different architecture/design techniques (e.g., object-oriented, top-down, structured analysis, component-based design) and tools
• Strong business acumen, including the ability to translate business needs into application solutions
• 5+ years of relevant experience in data management, extract, transform, load (ETL) architectures, J2EE application development, application integration patterns
• 3+ years of relevant experience integrating solutions with SAP
• Strong knowledge of ITIL processes
• Knowledge and experience working with SunGard FAME
• Knowledge in implementing secure applications
• Excellent knowledge in all aspects of testing, including unit and stress testing
• Knowledge and work experience with IBM DataStage, IBM Cognos
• Knowledge and work experience with WebLogic and JBoss application servers, MS SQL Server and Oracle RDBMS
• Knowledge of Enterprise Application Integration patterns and technologies
