Our client has a requirement for Technical Specialist - Workstation for a 3 month contract opportunity.  The position is located in Toronto.

Our client is looking for Technical Specialist – Workstation, 3 month contract. This role requires the contractor to travel between Wellan, St. Catharine's and Oakvile CTFS locations.


Position Summary:
This position is part of the Client Services Department. Client Services provides single point of contact for IT services delivered to our business clients at the client side.  This position is part of the Workstation Services team, which is accountable for the deployment, support and management of client computing technology (i.e. desktop, notebook, printer, Blackberry, etc).  The position is heavily focused on 2nd level support, and maintenance of the company workstation environments.  This position will participate in the on-going technology refresh and asset management initiatives, and may participate in technology deployment projects.


Responsibilities:
  • Provide 2nd level incident support and resolution
  • Deploy hardware and software technology to address client request for service
  • Participate in technology management processes, including technology refresh, asset inventory, configuration management
  • Enhance the technical expertise of peers via the development and delivery of product training to peers, and the creation and maintenance of documentation
  • Provide ad-hoc training as required to support client needs


Qualified Candidates will have: 
  • Solid understanding of standard client/server, networking, and Internet fundamentals;
  • Superior customer service and communication skills;
  • Familiarity with enterprise class incident management tools (Assyst, Remedy, etc);
  • Proven experience supporting Windows XP/Vista/7 in a managed enterprise environment;
  • Experience with technologies used in management and deployment of Window environments: Tivoli management console, Microsoft SMS/SCCM, Active Directory services, Blackberry Enterprise Server, Domino, Lotus Notes
  • College degree, preferably in Computer Science, is required.
  • ITIL foundations, A+ certifications preferred.
  • Microsoft certifications nice to have (MCDST, MCSA)
  • Tivoli Management System is nice to have
