About the Job
The Lead Functional Configurator (F&R) is responsible for understanding the client’s Supply Chain network, understanding business requirements and performing program configuration/modification and set-up activities using specific process techniques. This position requires extensive knowledge of SAP Forecasting & Replenishment with a focus on interface with SAP ECC application. This is a business-facing role that serves as a liaison between the Business and client's Information technology teams. This position will liaise with various Information Technology, Functional, and Business teams to ensure that business requirements are properly configured within SAP F&R. The Lead Functional Configurator provides expert technical direction to Senior Functional Configurators, Configurators and Contractors, and updates the Manager, Project Manager, or Sr. Manager on day to day activities and status.
Position Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
- Gather detailed requirements from business users for approved large scale projects and small enhancements to existing projects.
- Perform design for approved large scale projects and small enhancements to existing projects.
- Perform program configuration/modification and set-up activities on large projects using specific process techniques.
- Coordinate User Acceptance testing (UAT) with the Business Client. Provide System Requirement Documents (SRD) and Systems External Specifications (SES) documents to the UAT and System test groups, to assist with testing scenarios.
- Coordinate training and rollout plans for new systems or enhancements to existing systems.
- Provide expert technical direction to other functional configurators and contractors.
- Provide project leadership for multiple projects and activities.
- Partner with the client's management, business groups (Supply Chain F&R and Order Management system - POM); IT teams (Architecture, Infrastructure, Development) on best practices, design, and environment setup.
- Provide Subject Matter Expertise in the area of F&R.
- Provide expert technical direction to developers on developing FORMs and Reports
- Interface with Business Stakeholders, IT Infrastructure teams, Development teams to ensure that business requirements are properly configured within SAP.
Requirements or Qualifications
- Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in math, engineering, or computer science.
- Seven or more years direct experience with SAP F&R or MRP preferably in a retail environment.
- Extensive knowledge of SAP ECC Master Data, MM and FI modules. IS retail experience preferred but not mandatory.
- Proven ability to work creatively in a problem-solving environment with strong decision-making skills.
- Ability to partner with various levels of the business (including Supply Chain planning, operators, and business senior management) and IT.
- Strong communication (both oral and written) skills.
- Experience with structured project methodology.
- Experience in the creation and maintenance of business requirements documents, project plans, test plans, and other project-related documents.
- Ability to be self-directing and work independently. Ability to manage workload and report project status concisely.
- Computer literacy with strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
