Job Description:
Under the direction of the System Integration/Verification & Validation (SI/V&V) Team Lead, the successful candidate will hold a senior networking lead role, assisting the SI/V&V Team Lead with definition, execution and reporting on system level integration for C3ISS.
The successful candidate will participate in and support the Team Lead with all SI/V&V related activities for the program as well as providing senior level technical leadership and guidance to the team in engineering disciplines, overall technical awareness and knowledge, appropriate methods and processes.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Assist Team Lead with definition, development and documentation of detailed system integration networking test plans for new and existing products; defining the test scope and objectives, configuration and equipment, facilities, or personnel as necessary to ensure adequate test coverage.
  • Define and lead development of detailed test procedures and/or automated scripts required for platform, system or SoS integration and qualification, in accordance with the design documents, specifications, and requirements, including analysis and preliminary research to assess the tools and configurations required to adequately test the applicable functions.
    • Lead and execute tests in accordance with the defined test plans and procedures and the GD Canada System Integration practices, to ensure high quality and on-time deliverables
    • Employ and provide technical engineering knowledge and administrative guidance to team members; communicating roles and responsibilities, conducting team meetings, setting expectations, providing performance feedback, providing direction on daily priorities, where required.
    • Analyze and interpret data – including preliminary research into technical functionality, configuration, tools;   define data for input and gathering; assess applicability and validity of the data gathered; make recommendations and provide feedback on system behavior to all interested parties.
    • Assist Test Lead with planning, organizing and scheduling tasks - includes resource needs, risk identification, progress tracking and supporting overall group schedule/goals.
    • Define and develop estimates, schedules, resource loading to support Team Lead in making priority work decisions and resource loading within and across all projects and programs.
  • Prepare and/or review reports and supporting documentation to demonstrate progress, test measures and results and to communicate with internal and external customers, as required. 
  • Communicate effectively with engineering, development and customer teams, regularly.
  • Participate in peer reviews of System Engineering and Development documents to provide integration-applicable feedback.

Education/Training:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics engineering and hold a Professional Engineer (PEng) designation or related technical equivalent


Experience:
  • Minimum 5 -7 years experience with system integration activities including task planning and procedure writing, testing, report writing
  • Demonstrated initiative and motivation
  • Proven leadership capabilities
  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with voice/data networks (CISCO and/or DELL), Internet Protocols (RIP v2, OSPF, IP, UDP), wireless communications and data routing.
  • Familiarity with the principles of tactical communication systems and/or operations, an asset.
  • Experience with IXIA, Wireshark and Perfmon tools, an asset
Other:
Applicants will be required to obtain/hold a valid and current Canadian security clearance to gain access to the classified spaces, information and equipment in order to perform the work associated with this position which requires a minimum 5 year consecutive residence in Canada.

The successful applicant must also be capable of ITAR clearance for project related, TAA controlled, information.
