About the Job
Our client is a tier one, full-service, rapidly expanding automotive industry leader in the design and manufacture of metal stampings, modular welded assemblies.
 They are looking to hire a Process Engineering Specialist   to provide consultation to new program developments.


Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement of end item inspection fixtures, from RFQ to in plant approval
  • Gain customer fixture design approvals
  • Provide input on Inspection methods and process tooling to ensure an effective gauging strategy is achieved.
  • Advice on Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), Significant Characteristics (SC), and Key Product Characteristics (KPC).
  • Conduct investigations on non-conformances and recommend corrective action to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Review fixture designs to ensure that parts are properly located in accordance with the GD & T and that the fixtures pass required variable data and attribute checks in accordance with customer expectations


Requirements or Qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Effective problem-solving skills (8D) and decision-making skills
  • Ability to read blueprint drawings
  • Computer skills, i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, GroupWise
  • University Degree or College Diploma specializing in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Metallurgical Engineering
  • 3 - 5 years experience in a Quality and Engineering environment in manufacturing/automotive industry
  • Understanding of AIAG 5 Core Tools i.e. PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC and FMEA requirements
  • Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), Significant Characteristics (SC) selection, Statistical Process Control, customer-specific requirements.
  • Good understanding of customer specific test methods applicable to part requirements
