The Job
The Data Base Analyst / Application Administrator is a senior member of a small group of Data Base Analysts who are responsible for the critical corporate databases and applications at Western. As part of Western’s Information Systems Group (WISG), you will maintain and support databases for Oracle and a full suite of PeopleSoft ERP applications and Middleware and Web Server products. You will also work with management on the planning, monitoring and evolution of these applications. You will be expected to co-ordinate or develop technical aspects of 2-5 projects.

Who are you?
You have a university degree in computer science or some excellent experience that tells us
you’re ready for this challenge, including direct experience with database management products, PeopleSoft ERP applications and UNIX. Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and virtualization technologies are preferred.

You are a self starter, and a team player who understands customer service. You will use your excellent oral and written communication skills to share your technical expertise. While at Western we will look to you to enhance and evolve your knowledge and Western’s use of application features, as you shape directions and identify improvements.

The Job
As part of Western’s Information Systems team, your mission will be to build and maintain the applications that allow our Oracle / PeopleSoft ERP systems to deliver high quality, reliable business processes to departments such as Finance, Human Resources, Registrar’s, Alumni Relations and others. You’ll identify the gaps, design the processes, monitor progress and evolve the applications. You will put excellent people and communication skills to work, partnering with a broad range of on-campus clients.

Who are you?
You have a university degree in computer science or some excellent experience that tells us you’re ready for this challenge. You’ve worked in an application development and implementation environment, and if you’ve got in-depth knowledge of
Oracle / PeopleSoft / Primavera ERP applications you’re our kind of person.

You like to work in teams, collaborating with others who have high technical skills, but also with the business teams who need strong systems. You care about customer service, are a good communicator, and work with minimal supervision.

Of course, you have an in-depth technical knowledge of applications. You love to solve complex problems with multiple applications, interfaces and databases and you understand deadlines.
