SCM Program Advocate

TYPICAL DUTIES
  • Primary liaison with supply community for specific focal products and key/strategic tasks.
  • Leads discussions with dedicated team of technical, quality, and production personnel to ensure total acquisition cycle for the program team requirements is managed and met by the SCM team.
  • Leads discussions with dedicated team of SCM professionals to ensure acquisition needs and priority support levels are understood and communicated in support of the program team requirements.
  • Supports development of qualification standards, performance tiers, supplier performance and interface with Supplier Eng., SQE and other support resources focused on in plant material issues ensuring clear visibility and communication of issues to the supporting SCM team.
  • Bridges communication, technical or commercial issues between supplier management and program teams.
  • Leads resolution of performance problems and crisis management with regard to delivery, quality, technology or responsiveness.
  • Communicates potential GD Canada strategies to C4S Strategic Sourcing Management and facilitates the unlocking of their maximum contribution to our business performance.
  • Advised the SCM team of appropriate supply redundancy needs over time to reduce GD Canada exposure to unacceptable risks.
  • Supports BU NPI process as Program Advocate with special emphasis on time to market, lead time reduction and collective innovation.
  • Manages ongoing procurement interface with SCM team in resolving data conflicts with Master Scheduling.
  • Liaises with Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance and Quality to ensure multi-disciplined resources are managed within the supply engagement cycle.
  • Participates fully in annual SCM strategy development and the continuous focus on enterprise contributions, prioritization and execution.
  • Delivers stated goals and objectives of Strategic Plan tactical projects, with regular progress reports and communications of emerging risks.
