JOB DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this position is to fill a role of a White Box Tester supporting the Firmware Development Team. Under the guidance of the technical lead, the successful candidate is expected to test and verify new or enhanced design features of a military communications system.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties of the whitebox tester will include:
- Perform software unit test and integration tests on the new or modified functions;
- Participate in software design/changes and conduct software design review;
- Troubleshoot problems raised during development and integration test; and
- Participate in the system requirements analysis and design activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor degree in Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering.
- Applicants will be required to obtain/hold a valid and current Canadian security clearance to gain access to classified spaces, information and equipment in order to perform the work associated to this position.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- C/C++ experience
- Experience in Linux or cross platform development
- Network communication (TCP/UDP) experience
- Hands on experience in developing and testing software
- A solid understanding of design, coding and testing patterns
- Knowledge of software/firmware testing techniques and tools
- Knowledge of software/firmware configuration management process
- Familiarity with scripting
- An understanding of software scalability, performance and reliability aspects
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills

No travel is anticipated.
