Project Management Analyst - LEISC

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Land Command Systems Support, Engineering and Integration Support Contract (LEISC), provides In-Service Support for radio and command and control systems for the Canadian Forces Army.  The LEISC Program Team provides Engineering cognizance; maintains Test and Integration Facilities; provides Repair and Overhaul services; and Program Management services as tasked by our customer.

PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Project Management Analyst (PMA) role is part of the Program Management Office matrix organization and reports on a day-to-day basis to the assigned Manager(s) to support related Engineering and Project Management teams.  This position requires considerable liaison between engineering and project management staff management at all levels.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create, organize and maintain activity-based plans and project schedules, including input to Engineering and Project Management Plans
  • Define, document and administer integrated databases to document engineering and project related data such as: requirements; configurations; problem reports; action items; risks and review minutes.
  • Research, collect and report data for presentations, schedule status updates and program reviews.
  • Report on task performance as defined in project management and engineering plans.
  • Monitor project financials and budgets, liaise with project financial analysts to update cost information and determine cost plan variances, assist with estimates-to-completion, and assist with using correct charge codes.
  • Create meeting agendas and set-up meeting rooms for local and online distance communications.
  • Scribe technical meeting minutes to capture action items; and input action items into databases for tracking and reporting

EDUCATION
Relevant Project Management, Business or Technical Diploma or Certificate; demonstrated equivalent experience will be considered.
Advantage: Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), or Project Management Professional (PMP) in training

EXPERIENCE
Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in a technical project environment.
Advanced working knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office, specifically; Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, with experience in database input and reporting.
Intermediate or working knowledge of Microsoft Project, Visio, and Access would be an asset.

This position requires considerable liaison between engineering and project management staff members at all levels, and it is essential that the successful candidate demonstrate the following aptitudes:

  • Communication:  Deliver clear, concise and professional communications in both spoken and written forms.
  • Teamwork:  Work cooperatively with various disciplines to accomplish work objectives.
  • Initiative:  Work independently and proactively to complete tasks appropriately and on time, and seek guidance in situations of uncertainty or urgency.
  • Problem Solving:  Effectively assess problems and determine workable solutions.

OTHER
The successful candidate must be eligible to hold Canadian SECRET clearance.
