Senior IT Manager, Business Delivery Solutions

About the Job
Reports directly to and works under the direction of IT Director of Business Solution Delivery – Stores. This person will be responsible for managing and leading a team working with Front End or Back Office applications for stores. As we deliver more and more integrated solutions, we need to ensure that we provide visibility across IT to ensure all dependencies are identified and approved. The team will deliver applications with increased flexibility, functionality and enhancements to improve the customer experience at the store. Major initiatives include migration from multiple to one POS and implementation of a new POS platform providing robust capabilities while assuring all resources work within established IT frameworks and standards. Work collaboratively with the business to understand and meet business priorities. This role will also work closely with external vendors to ensure that project deliverables are met.


Key Responsibilities
  • Reviews and evaluates capabilities and benefits of existing system and processes and determines if requested change is possible. Co-ordinate IT effort and timeline estimates for enhancements and change requests.
  • Work closely with the Business and IT groups to understand overall team priorities. Lead the team in establishing work priorities based on Business and IT priorities. Assign work to team and track and report status.
  • Provide feedback and coaching to team members to assist with personal development and objective obtainment. Maintain and encourage open lines of communication between groups/functional areas/team members
  • Ensure conformance to LCL IT standards, methodologies, and tools.
  • Review and approve Business requirements and change requests. Approve all Functional Designs. Ensure business requirements are fully met. Ensure appropriate other IT groups review and agree with final solution design. Review and ensure Technical Designs aligns with Functional Design.
  • Provide support to Technical, QA, and Business resources as needed
  • Lead the team in providing 3rd level Support Services that meet established Service Level Agreement objectives.
  • Work closely with their business contacts to understand and contribute to the evolution of IT solution to meet business objectives.
  • Keep the appropriate people informed and up to date in a timely manner, such as team members, Project Managers, Management and business.
  • Manage budgets and escalate issues as required. Provide input into annual budget process. Prepare budget spreadsheets.
  • Manage external resources to meet SOW deliverables as needed. Mentor internal teams and build/grow Forecasting and Replenishment Functional team.


Requirements or Qualifications 
  • Minimum of 5 years experience managing or leading an IT team in a Software development environment.
  • Experience in Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Retail Systems knowledge/experience or equivalent is a definite asset.
  • Experience in retail industry a definite asset.
  • A post secondary education or equivalent work experience.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.

  • Excellent people management and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated competencies: planning, budget and timeline management, scope management, risk management, timely decision making, effective team building, ability to prioritize and delegate appropriately as well as deal with changing priorities.
  • Executive presence with strong presentation and facilitation skills.
