Sr. Infrastructure Specialist

We are looking for an INFRASTRUCTURE SPECIALIST (not Infrastructure Architect). 
This individual would need to have strong Java, Websphere, AIX, Cognos, Oracle experience with the ability to understand how an environment should be built from end to end. This individual would be working with the infrastructure team and provide instruction/guide on application integration. Vendor deployment experience would be nice to have. 

Must have: 
• Experience with Java SE, Java EE, XML, AIX/Unix, Cognos (designing reports) 
• Solid knowledge of Websphere (5, 6, 7), ideally including XD or VE 
• DBMS knowledge required in Oracle 
• experience as Infrastructure Specialist with a proven experience in liaising with infrastructure team 
• Application integration experience 

Nice to have: 
- Vendor deployment experience 
- Experience in managing medium/large product deployments and integrating them with other systems 
- PTS (MKS) Integrity, CA7 (scheduling tool) and HP Quality Center 
- Experience in reporting – development, tuning 
- Experience with optimizing performance 

Other Mandatory qualifications include: 
• Experience with Web Services 
• Solid object oriented design experience applying design best practices 
• Experience with designing reports in Cognos 
• Experience in Reporting – development, tuning, etc 
• Experience with optimizing performance of applications through DB tuning 

Other nice to have skills: 
• Experience in working with remote teams including offshore resources 
• Ability to develop strong relationships with peers, internal and external customers and IT partners 
• Ability to understand and acquire new technical skills 
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment, multi-task and work with minimal supervision 
• Work effectively in a team environment and be able to interact with all levels of personnel from various functional areas 
• Strong written and oral communication skills 
• Proficiency with MS Office PC software applications (Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Sharepoint) 

Candidates will be shortlisted as soon as qualified candidates have been submitted. There would be a panel interview with two to three managers including technical experience. Interviews will take place next week. 

This individual will be working within Corporate Segment Technology Solutions (CSTS)’s Corporate Compliance group responsible for the delivery and support of technology solutions for the Corporate Compliance business unit, including distributed and centralized applications. 

This individual will be working on various compliance projects and be responsible for all Environmental and Deployment related activities in both pre-production and production areas on the Compliance Intelligence Application (CIA) Project 

This project will consist of multiple current phases/releases. 

The CIA project will: 
- Build a single Global Compliance Application that will be used for Compliance capabilities to assist in consistent management and reporting 
- Streamline processes within the lines of business so that one process exists 
- Provide consistent and accurate reporting data 
- Reduce and mitigate regulatory risks 

The scope of the project includes: 
- Regulator communication support 
- Regulatory requirement management 
- Controls monitoring and testing 
- Issue and event tracking and management 
- Reporting
- Employee Registrations (Canada) 
- Global Enterprise Compliance and Privacy 

Accountabilities include: 
• Perform analysis to support business strategies and initiatives. 
• Act as a liaison between the CSTS project team and the various ITS teams: infrastructure / hardware /network 
• Create and maintain such SDLC artifacts as Deployment Strategy and Deployment Plan 
• Implement quality solutions consistent with project objectives and client requirements 
• Ensure solutions adhere development best practices and Architectural principles 
• Proficient in communicating technical descriptions of defects to Senior Management, Vendors and developers. 
• Work with IT management and the client to ensure effective communication, integration of project issues and deliverables, and solutions that meet the business requirements 
• Perform analysis and design, following system development life cycle (SDLC) methodology 
• Contribute to team success by meeting key project milestones and overall project deliverables on time and within budget, while adhering to development and quality standards 
• Determine and develop effective solutions by researching/analyzing issues
