About the Job

Our client has a requirement for a Senior Business Analyst for a twelve month contract opportunity.  The position is located in Toronto.

Role

The successful candidate will be working with the Capital Markets Technology group on multiple projects and supporting existing applications.

Responsibilities

• Data analysis using SQL and possibly an Oracle database
• Writing technical specifications and design documents
• Writing and executing functional and regression test cases; running integration and helping user acceptance testing
• Help development manager and other team members to manage software releases
• Participates in project and team meetings interacting and collaborating with team members and other departments as appropriate
• Contributes to successful completion of project deliverables
• Thorough in-depth knowledge of design and analysis methodology and application development processes

Requirements or Qualifications

Qualified Candidates will have:

• Strong SQL analysis skills required
• Experience using an Oracle database would be an asset
• 5+ years of strong Business Analysis experience is required; requirements gathering, liaising with business and technology groups, analyzing requirements, etc.
• Strong technology experience/background
• Strong analytical skills for complex problem solving are a must;  he/she must know how to analyze application log files to help resolve problems
• Knowledge of Capital Markets would be an asset
• Knowledge of Windows batch / Powershell and Unix shell script would be definite assets
• Demonstrates advanced understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Quality Assurance requirements and software development control and release procedures
• University degree in Computer Science or Engineering
