NATO AGS Communication Group Controller Server (CGCS Server) Lead

The CGCS SW team is split into three sub teams:  the CGCS User Interface development team, the CGCS Server Development Team and the CGSC Test team.  The CGCS Server SW application interfaces directly with the communications equipment to initialize, control and monitor the equipment. 

Under the direction of the NATO AGS Communication Group Controller SW Lead, the CGCS Server Lead executes monitors and controls all software development and integration activities, to specify, design, implement, and integrate and support the CGCS Server solution.  The CGCS Server Lead acts both as a team lead and technical lead for the CGCS Server solution.



RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the GD Canada focal point for all CGCS Server issues, concerns and requirements
  • Execute, monitor and control the GD Canada activities associated with the CGCS Server  solution development and conduct integration with the Communications Equipment Simulators
  • Delivers the CGCS Server portion of the CGCS  solution to the customer’s stated requirements, on time and within budget
  • Ensure that all efforts adhere to the GD Canada EDF, Engineering development process and standards and the customer imposed formal review requirements
  • Act as the technical lead and solution architect for the CGCS Server application
  • Provide day-to-day leadership to the CGCS Server Team
  
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE 
  • At least 2 years related experience as a SW Engineering leader for an effort of greater than $3M
  • At least 2 years experience in managing schedules and budgets
  • 5 years experience related to Communications or Sensor interface application development
  • 5 years experience in software development in a defense environment
  • Working knowledge of Windows based client server applications a definite asset
  • Working knowledge of Mil-STD -1553 bus applications
  • Working knowledge of DOORS and Rational Rose/Rhapsody (or similar)
  • Working knowledge of MI-STD 2167, MIL-STD 498 , DO 178B or IEEE 12207
  • Working knowledge of OO development
  • Working knowledge of C/C++
  • Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and work in a team environment
  • Experience  in Communications systems development or support would be a definite asset

EDUCATION
  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering/Computer Science or related technical/engineering degree with 9 years of SW development experience

OTHER
  • Up to 10% travel required
  • The successful candidate must be eligible to obtain and hold NATO SECRET and COMSEC clearance;
  • The Candidate must be able to be cleared for ITAR.
