About the Job

Our client has a requirement for an AS400 Technical Administrator for a 2.5 Month Contract opportunity.  The position is located in Mississauga, ON .

Role

Our client requires an AS400 Technical Administrator to backfill a resource on extended absence. This resource would be engaged in the following projects:

• TRN elimination
• OS upgrades to V7.1
• Server migration to P7

The ideal candidate will have the following skill sets: System Admin of AS400, Power 7 experience, OS version 7, VIO server - Virtual IO experience, SAN (Storage Area Network) and excellent communication. 

Working after hours in this position is necessary to support upgrades and migrations. On call rotation may be required.

Requirements or Qualifications

Qualified Candidates will have:

• A BSc in Computers or equivalent technical courses from IBM.
• Minimum of 5 years experience as hands-on in design, build & support of AS400 systems.
• Very good knowledge of OS patch management, trouble-shooting, communications management, performance management and high availability.
• Excellent ability to express themselves both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work unassisted in high pressure environments.
• The ability to work as second level support within the eng.
