About the Job

Our client has a requirement for a Senior Project Control Officer (PCO) for a 6 Month Contract opportunity.  The position is located in Toronto, ON.

Role

Our Client is  looking for a Senior PCO with solid experience on delivery focused projects. The PCO would need to have experience working on large projects and posses a strong sense of how to get things done. This candidate will be working with various teams and stakeholders and would need to be flexible. As well, they would need experience working with project admin/financials, project planning and SharePoint. 

Responsibilities

 Responsibilities include:
  • Assisting the Project Manager in the day to day execution of a project, providing analytical support to projects of various sizes and complexity.
  • Having an advanced understanding /appreciation of business issues and objectives, and impact of the team’s work. 
  • Ensuring accuracy in the development of status reports, work packages, detailed project plans, specifications and schedules 
  • Setting up and maintaining on-line project libraries, including tracking and set up the deliverable process 
  • Monitoring and tracking critical data including milestones and ensuring that work team leads provide this information in a timely fashion 
  • Using project management software and applicable templates to prepare documentation, tracking and monitoring information 
  • May lead and complete work packages and/or smaller projects, applying principles of project management and ensuring appropriate documentation, change and risk management are in place 
  • Developing an understanding of the business aspects of the project in order to effectively contribute to the project 
  • Conducting implementation and post implementation activities, ensuring project deliverables are communicated and users are trained, if applicable 
Requirements or Qualifications

Qualified Candidates will have:
  • 6 years Program/Project Control experience 
  • Understanding of concepts of dependencies, leads and lags 
  • Expertise in SDLC & PMLC processes 
  • Solid PCO experience on delivery focused products
  • Experience working on large and long term projects
  • Financials/project planning experience
  • 4 years Sharepoint  experience
  • Wealth or Financial/Banking experience is an asset
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Highly developed organizational & interpersonal skills
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office Products, Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Project
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent documentation skills 
  • Ability to multi task 
  • Ability to work in an ongoing changing environment 
  • Ability to work both in teams and individually
