About the Job

Our client has a requirement for a Junior Security Specialist for a 3 Month Contract opportunity.  The position is located in Toronto, ON.

Role

The Security Specialist will be focused on Data Leakage operational processes in terms of incident investigation, workflow, interfacing with technology partners to improve capabilities and engaging with business partners to resolve incidents. Top skills required for success include a security background, excellent communication and an ability to handle a large number of simultaneous activities.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include:

• Providing support for developing and supporting security initiatives
• Directing the planning and implementation of enterprise IT system, business operation, and facility defenses against security breaches and vulnerability issues
• Auditing existing systems, while directing the administration of security policies, activities, and standards.
• Carrying out and evaluating investigative work regarding potential threats
• Taking full responsibility for handling simulated/actual disaster scenarios
• Defining training requirements in security matters for all levels of staff
• Commanding respect for competence/excellence in informatics security
• Advising senior management on information security, devise policies
• Leading risk analysis, disaster recovery, planning and event simulation
• Coordinating work for small size projects and potential supervision of staff on an ongoing basis 

Requirements or Qualifications

Qualified Candidates will have:

• 2+ years experience with IT system audit
• 2+ years experience with IT system Implementation
• 2+ years project coordination experience
• 2+ years working on a security development initiative
• University degree or college diploma with experience in the IT industry
• Excellent communication skills
• Banking/Financial industry experience is preferred
