Job Description:
Our client has a requirement for Software and Infrastructure Tester for a 12 month contract opportunity.  The position is located in Toronto.

Role:

The Testers will work with the project team to ensure that the quality expectations are met. You will bring your expertise, practical experience and best practices to the table to develop the test plans and test cases needed and oversee their execution to ensure that the website meets all quality expectations. In addition, you may provide testing support to other projects teams who are developing functionality to support online interactions through the refreshed website.
  • Participating in all aspects of the system development life cycle as required with specific focus on reviewing and analysing requirements for site content to be managed through the Open Text Web Experience Management (v8.1.1) web content management system, to ensure quality expectations can be met
  • Providing guidance and expertise to business, technical and non technical team members to better understand the capability for ensuring quality using a web content management product such as Open Text Web Experience Management (v8.1.1) along with IBM WebSphere Portal.
  • Working with subject matter experts to gather information on site content. Accurately analyze critical details of business issues and opportunities.Create business requirements documentation and translate into testing requirements.
  • Developing the test plans and test cases and manage their execution, ensuring that quality expectations for the refreshed toronto.ca website are met.
  • Determining the types of testing required to ensure quality expectations are met.
  • Liaising with the design team for wireframe and solution prototyping; technical team to clarify and finalize functional specifications and identify potential issues for testing requirements.
  • Establishing standards, methodologies and best practices for activities related to testing a refreshed toronto.ca, supported by a web content management platform.
Requirement or Qualifications:
  • Completed post-secondary education in disciplines related to the job function; for example, software engineering, technical communications, human-computer interaction, graphic and/or industrial design or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years experience, preferably in the public sector, with enterprise website development projects including site design, web site construction, site navigation, site management and content development for the web using an enterprise content management system, and publication through a portal, such as: Open Text Web Experience Management & IBM Websphere portal.
  • 5+ years experience developing and executing test plans and test cases for website/development projects using manual and automated approaches. Experience in web development projects for large public service organizations.
  • 2+ years experience testing integration between Web Content Management systems and portal software (such as IBM WebSphere Portal) for dynamic content delivery using portlets.
  • 2+ years experience testing integration between Web Content Management systems and other content sources for dynamic content delivery. Experience testing Open Text Vignette Business Integration Studio (VBIS) preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience with QTP(Quick Test Professional), Script creation, and development of QTP Automation frameworks
  • 5+ years experience with functional test automation methodologies such as keyword data-driven, component data-driven, messages, data driven etc
  • Demonstrated experience with scripting(VBScript), object-oriented design as well as Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), Dynamic Hypertext Markup Language (DHTML), Extensible Markup Language (XML), JavaScript, graphic formats, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), popular Web plug-ins, Web site authoring and management tools including Web Content Management and related information repository and database environments.
  • 3+ years experience using Quick Test Professional (QTP) for automated testing of web site development;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), presentation skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities, coaching and mentoring.
  • Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple projects, work to overlapping deadlines and prioritize based on impact assessment.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex business processes, work with diverse groups and act as liaison between technical and business teams to gather clarify and prioritize requirements, perform various types of testing for website development projects.
