About the Job

Our client has a requirement for a Quality Assurance infrastructure Test Analyst for a 12 month contract opportunity.  The position is located in Toronto.

Requirements

This program provides an Information Technology (IT) infrastructure environment that can support the client’s business applications that deliver quality of our client’s services to the public. The IT infrastructure consists of four main areas: General Business Computer Environment; Client Server Environment:  Standard Development Environment; Other IT Infrastructure (Quality Management Program, IT Security enhancements, Enterprise management systems, Disaster Recovery planning, etc).

This program provides for the state of good repair for the IT infrastructure. It ensures the availability, reliability and maintainability of the IT environments. Various infrastructure projects include but are not limited to: Infrastructure State of Good Repair; Security Project; Enterprise storage upgrade; business application compatibility/integration; Hardware build validation; Enterprise networking upgrades; Virtualization platform upgrades; Microsoft environment upgrades (Exchange & SharePoint).

Scope of Work

Responsibilities will range from analyzing requirements, creating Quality Assurance plans, ensuring completion of QA identified activities, creating test plans and test cases for system testing, executing test cases, documenting problem reports for identified problems, performing regression testing, maintaining test logs and producing test metrics based on test results. Develop estimates for schedule of all the above activities. Ensure that the execution of QA processes and testing strategies lead to the deployment of quality applications and products to the client’s users and customers. Analyze project or requirement documents to identify test requirements. Review all relevant project documentation and provide feedback as required. Contribute to the planning, executing and reporting for the program testing activities. Identify and recommend changes to enhance effectiveness of software development life cycle. There will also be technical responsibilities of configuring hardware for the purpose of troubleshooting when investigating issues or problems specific to each project.

Qualified Candidates will have:

• Minimum of five years QA/Testing experience in an enterprise infrastructure environment
• Knowledge of testing methodologies
• Excellent written skills and experience in writing test documentation
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for knowledge exchange and training
• Solid experience in executing testing and analyzing results
• Automating testing for infrastructure systems
• Strong issue management skills
• Demonstrated analytical skills in assessing and reviewing business and service process to identify areas for improvement
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills to help validate, verify, and resolve system/software application issues
• Thorough testing in order to ensure high quality of deliverables

 The following skills would be an asset:

• Experience with ASP, .NET, Visual Basic, IIS, and web application solutions preferred
• UNIX operating system knowledge a definite asset
• Detailed knowledge of business functions a definite asset
• Certified MSCE would be a definite asset

 Minimum five years Technical experience with Enterprise level systems/environments:

• Experience with migration to Windows 2003/2008 & XP/Windows 7 operating systems
• Experience with virtualization technologies
• Experience with networking technologies
• Technical knowledge for Microsoft technologies: Exchange, SharePoint, Active Directory, DFS,
• Proficient in database technology testing: Oracle, SQL
• Experience with enterprise storage technologies
• Security testing experience
• Business application compatibility/integration testing
• University/Community College degree in Computer Science / Electronic Engineering or equivalent
