Job Description:

Our client has a requirement for a technical services specialist for a 12 month contract opportunity.  The positions are located in Calgary, Alberta.

This position is responsible for providing daily operational server support, server configuration, and troubleshooting to achieve a service levels on both MS Windows and Oracle Solaris servers.  This would include adhering to standards on change management, incident management, problem management, and release management.  Operational support for the server infrastructure is during and after normal business hours. Duties may include on call rotation and call out, and support when needed.

Requirement or Qualifications:

Qualified Candidates will have:

• Windows Server (hardware and Software) skills in analysis, troubleshooting, monitoring, and optimization.                          
• Oracle Solaris Server (or equivalent UNIX) hardware and operating system skills in analysis, troubleshooting, monitoring, and optimization.                   
• Fundamental understanding and knowledge around Networking, Firewalls, Storage, Virtualization, Databases and Security.                              
• Exchange, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, File/Printers, Lync, Citrix experience.

 Other:                   

• Demonstrated partnership, teamwork, and communication skills with a customer focus.

Performance Expectations:

• Ability to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision, while providing timely communication of status and issues to the team and key stakeholders.
