Systems Administor

Our client is a Tier One supplier to the major automobile manufacturers, a full-service automotive industry leader in the design and manufacture of metal stampings; modular welded assemblies; structural welded assemblies; mechanical assemblies and heat shields for thermal applications.   Located in Aurora, they are looking for a Systems Administrator.  This role is to maintain all file systems on all platforms, ensuring the integrity of the data, while providing support to all users on any systems related issues in an efficient, accurate manner.


Duties Include:
  • Manages the computer operations, software selection and installation of systems
  • Responsible for maintaining Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange 2010 as per Microsoft best practices on daily, weekly monthly maintenance schedules
  • Manages installation, configuration and upgrades of all systems and software on network servers
  • Is responsible to trouble-shoot critical failures and enhancements of the Production hardware/software
  • Seeks any new software that would benefit company by keeping apprised of new technology through literature and attending seminars.
  • Develops and document procedures when required
  • Participates in ongoing Continuous Improvement processes
    • Keeps up to date on customer requirements through attending     seminars, meetings, corresponding via fax/email.
  • Contributes to a safe, clean and comfortable work environment that complements the Occupational Health and Safety Act by ensuring the principles of the 5S discipline (simplify, separate, sanitize, standardize and support) are supported and adhered to.
  • Work safely by following safe work practices, Company safety rules, and complying with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations (Particularly Section 28 of OHSA) ,


What you bring:
  • College Diploma or University Degree in computer related field
  • Certification on Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange 2010
  • Minimum 2 – 3 years work related experience in a manufacturing/automotive environment
  • Sound working knowledge of UNIX, network protocols
  • Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
  • Effective use of problem solving and decision making skills
  • Ability to collect, analyze information to determine root cause and resolution
  • Uses positive interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships
