Recruiting Team Technical Lead

Zylog Systems (Canada) Ltd. is currently seeking a Team Lead – Recruiting. This role will be responsible for leading a team providing support on all facets of recruiting including reviewing and understanding job order requirements, posting the requirements via the internet, creative sourcing, interviewing, identification, and preparing documentation for client review.  The Team Lead will make hiring recommendations related to the recruiting team, manage the performance of the recruiters, assign/coordinate work effort, recommend development and, otherwise, manage the efforts of the assigned recruiting team.


Specific Responsibilities & Primary Duties:
  • Manage and develop the talent of the Recruitment team.
  • Provide one on one and group training on candidate sourcing and recruiting techniques.  This includes search and selection strategies; interviewing techniques; the use of external job boards and search engines; networking and direct sourcing.
  • Assist the recruitment team when necessary to screen and interview qualified candidates.
  • Source and leverage various resource tools to ensure that team is able to source qualified diverse candidates.
  • Serve as resource and researcher to improve the team’s awareness of specialized subject areas, such as the business status of independent contractors, and key issues for foreign workers inCanadaand abroad.
  • Establish individual and group targets for Recruiters which will include: number of candidate submissions per month; number of candidates interviewed by clients; number of closes per month.
  • Set an example and inspire the team to achieve on aggressive short-term goals while building relationships for the long-term.
  • Establish and monitor various reporting metrics to track and report the metrics against targets.
  • Meet with the recruitment team on a weekly basis to assess their team performance.
  • Work with individual recruiters to address issues, and overcome obstacles related to recruiting or their roles.
  • Regularly monitor Recruiters’ adherence to Quality Management System as it pertains to recruitment processes (candidate documentation and permission to represent, frequency of contact and updated information, submissions to job orders, reference checks, etc.)
  • Train (or ensure training of) all Recruiters on the ATS application and ensure all recruiting activity is tracked and measurable in the ATS application.
  • Communicate with the sales team as needed to qualify position requisitions, close information gaps, and define key criteria to meet the search requirements.
  • Manage delivery issues and ensure the Directors, Business Development/Account Managers are aware if search requirements become complex or difficult to fill.
  • Liaise between recruitment team and sales team to ensure processes around job assignment and role distribution are being followed correctly, are timely, and in a fair manner.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with staff to provide timely feedback on performance , and complete annual performance reviews
  • Liaise with Human Resources to resolve employee issues.
  • Drive hiring, corrective action and terminations
  • Develop and maintain a network of key talent sources for Recruitment of candidates.
  • Develop knowledge related to client needs to effectively target recruitment resources in a professional and efficient manner
  • Screen and interview qualified candidates.
  • Manages the scheduling and logistics of all interviews between candidates and Client/Hiring managers to move selection processes to conclusion.
  • Track all recruitment activities in the company ATS


Minimum Qualifications:
  • College Diploma/University Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of Agency recruitment experience focusing on both contract and permanent positions is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of management/team leadership experience as would be relevant to the position description above.
  • Previous Technology Recruiting experience required.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including the development of highly successful teams, effective mentoring, and coaching, motivating, and empowering staff are required.
  • Experience with multiple recruiting methods ranging from internet recruiting, market trend analysis and cutting-edge sourcing techniques is required.
  • Proven track record at achieving placement goals in a high paced environment.
  • Must have a strong customer focus and be able to effectively and quickly build relationship and establish trust, respect, competence and confidence required.
  • Initiative and strong sense of urgency and the ability to handle many projects simultaneously is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required in both English and French.
  • Solid organizational and problem solving skills
  • Proficient with MS (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Outlook required.
