Job Description:

Our client has a requirement for a short term contract with an immediate start date.  This is an open position for real work, contract in hand!.  The client is ready to have someone start as soon as today! We are accepting resumes now in order to qualify against the opportunity. The position is for a Level 3 Technical Writer.  The position is located in Ottawa, Ontario

Our client has an open position for a Technical Writer consultant, to come in and provide documentation relating to the clients enterprise architecture.  This position offers an opportunity for the consultant to contribute to important initiatives that will solidify the client’s initiatives.  Our client is actively screening resumes and scheduling interviews to fill this position, so let one our professional resource managers represent you to the client, promote your skills, and help you prepare.

Requirement or Qualifications:

Tasks

• Document help text, user manuals, technical documentation, web page content, etc.
• Review documentation standards and the existing project documentation.
• Determine documentation requirements and makes plans for meeting them.
• Gather information concerning the features and functions provided by the developers.
• Assess the audience for the documents/manuals which are required and prepare a statement of purpose and scope for each.
• Develop a table of content for each document/manual and write or edit the required content.
• Investigate the accuracy of the information collected by making direct use of the material being documented.
• Prepare or coordinate the preparation of any required illustrations and diagrams.
• Design the layout of the documents/manuals.
• Use word-processing, desk-top publishing and graphics software packages to produce final camera-ready copy.
• Organize and facilitate meetings.

Mandatory experience required:

• The proposed resource must have a minimum of five years working experience within the last 10 years as technical writer in an IT environment.
• The proposed resource must have a minimum of two years working experience within the last five years planning, researching and writing IT documentation/specifications based on architecture documents. 

• The proposed resource must have a minimum of one year experience within the last five years in reviewing architect documents for the conformance to existing architecture standards and specifications in the following IT environments: Java or MS .NET or Distributed  or Mainframe platform
• MUST HAVE: SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE
