Our client has a requirement for Intermediate Business Analyst for a 9 month contract opportunity.  The positions are located in Calgary.

General Information
This Business System Analyst position reports to the manager of Business Systems.  This position will primarily provide business operational support and problem resolution and conduct analysis or trending as requested.

  • Perform day-to-day support functions and / or process assistance;
  • Provide input and guidance on business processes matters supporting the use by internal clients of tools in the Supply Chain, maintenance & inventory domains.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of routine business management processes; May be assigned to assist in delivery of specific project related activities;
  • Develop an understanding of cost management, supply chain management, and maintenance systems and processes;
  • Respond to requests for data and information;
  • Develop or execute MS Excel and Avantis reports;
  • Provide timely response and communication to problem through the ticket system (Remedy);
  • Provide help-desk assistance on business applications.


Responsibilities include:
  • Business support for Business Systems Products (Avantis, Cognos Planning, PRISM, and Oracle Projects);
  • Investigates and resolve end user problems, inquiries and performance issues;
  • Assigns and escalate requests to appropriate resources for resolution if they cannot be resolved by first line support;
  • Provides input into recommendations for changes to standard procedures or processes;
  • Assists in routine analysis and projects in a defines area of responsibility;
  • Provides training to end users and assists with customer resolutions;
  • Provides technical help in system testing and reconfigurations;
  • Documentation of processes;
  • Completes recurring work independently.  Uses judgment in determining which method to use in any given situation;
  • Follow change management process.

  
Qualifications/Competencies Required:
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain Maintenance and Inventory business processes will be considered an asset;
  • Knowledge of Avantis system or other Enterprise Asset Management system or ERP system (like Maximo, SAP or Oracle Maintenance and procurement modules, etc) is an asset;
  • Due to high nature of telephone support strong verbal skills are mandatory;
  • Excellent customer service skills are required;
  • Proficient in MS Office applications with particular emphasis on Excel and some reporting tools
  • Ability to understand and analyze both business and technical issues to resolve business problems;
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, able to work and interact positively with others;
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, service level agreements;
  • Customer focused and courteous in dealing with numerous clients;
  • Inclined to work with systems and provide business application support to end users;
  • Good organization, time management and prioritization skills.


 Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  •  Applicants must have legal authorization to work in Canada with no restrictions.
