Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for analysis, definition, design, and documentation of requirements and needs, in support of the current systems and future enhancements. The Engineer must participate in and present integrated teams that include System integration, Development and Customer Stakeholders. The candidate must also develop and document use cases at an appropriate level and get stakeholder input/agreement for the evolution of the system. Support System Integration and Development by explaining the intent of designs, peer reviewing engineering artifacts and contributing to problem assessment.The Land Engineering and Integration Support Contract (LEISC) provides support for the tactical voice, data systems used by the Canadian Army. These systems include integration of VHF, HF, UHF and networking systems with voice and data services. Under this contract, the baseline Land Command Support System (LCSS) will be maintained and new systems and capabilities will be added and integrated as support tasks.
Must Have:
- Bachelor degree in electrical/electronics or related technical/scientific degree
- Five to seven years experience working
- Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance
- Strong communications abilities, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated initiative and willingness to learn
- Experience in service oriented software design, liefcycle and design techniques
- A strong understanding of the scalability, performance and reliability aspects of software and server applications
Nice to Have:
- Eligibility for Professional Engineering status preferred
- Knowledge of wireless and infrastructure-based networking principles is an asset
- Interest in emerging technologies and information management is an asset.
- Knowledge and recent use of computer-aided engineering tools is an asset.
