Job Description:
Our client has a requirement for Data Centre Project Manager for a 2 year contract opportunity. The positions are located in Toronto.

Requirement or Qualifications:
Qualified Candidates will have:
- Prior experience working in the Public Sector (preferably Municipal) IT environment with a focus on technology infrastructure.
- Prior Project Management experience to lead multi-disciplined teams as needs arise for projects. PMP credentials would be an asset.
- Experience in the forecasting, provision of space and power for future growth and new systems in a complex I & T environment with multiple datacentres.
- Experience in working with a 3rd party co-location facility and dealing with amendments and changes; arranging power and network installations; deploying racks and servers.
- Experience in redundant electrical power systems for IT hardware, HVAC and how they impact performance.
- Experience in all aspects of the Data Centre build processes including planning, timelines, business case, needs assessment, feasibility studies and RFP/RFQ development.
- Good working knowledge of IT infrastructures, technologies and applications of large, corporate multi-platform, multi-site data centres consisting of several hundred servers. This includes knowledge of network, SAN, backup and security methods and terminology.
- Experience generating reports and reporting work assignment progress against budget and assessing performance on a project basis.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with corporate clients, vendors and team members with a strong customer service orientation.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
