Job Description:
Our client has a requirement for a National Operation Centre Analyst for a 1 year contract opportunity.  The position is located in Mississauga.

Role:
Our client a major national retailer is looking for National Operation  Centre  (NOC) Support Specialist,   to lead the  data  centre through 1st and  2nd level support.
 Reporting directly to the Sr. Manager - Enterprise Infrastructure Support and works under the general direction of the Team Lead, NOC and up line Production Coordinator. The incumbent operates the networked computing environment on a 7 x 24 rotational schedule. Analyzes and supports National Operations by controlling production applications monitoring system resources and response time and providing first line support for operational problems.



ACCOUNTABILITIES
Monitor & Support:
• Monitor and manage batch jobs using Autosys
• Monitor and manage alarms using BMC Event Management (BEM)
• Manage Events and Incidents via BMC ARS Remedy
• Monitor and manage the enterprise of networked computers and applications.
• Participate in department initiatives, as well as special projects.

Management:
• Manage Remedy tickets for Batch and network problems and update problem status received from support groups.
• Manage e-mail from Store Systems and manage Lockbox for emergency passwords.

Documentation:
• Register production events, incidents and changes using BMC ARS Remedy.
• Execute escalation procedures, and maintain an accurate log of events during the shift.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date Operations documentation.
• Maintain accurate Shift Logs and Shift Summary Report


Requirement or Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science or relevant discipline
  • working  12 hour shifts on a rotation level,  2 weekend a month
  • Operational knowledge of Autosys (must have), Active Directory (must have), Patrol, BMC Event Management (must have), Netbackup, Backup Exec and Crystal, Remedy (must have) and MS Office suite of products.
  • Work requires proficiency in the use of Desktop/Laptop and Microsoft suite of products.
  • Ability to work effectively during times of crisis or stress.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Individual is required to work 12 hour shifts, including overnight and weekend shifts.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a Network Operations role.
